The translational potential of genomic profiling via tumor and liquid biopsy analysis in canine osteosarcoma

I am an Associate Professor of Clinical Oncology and the Director of Oncology Clinical Trials at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. The current focus of my research is based on translational models of naturally occurring cancer in companion animals. Specifically, I focus on chemotoxicity and chemotherapy mechanisms of action, improving chemotherapy efficacy with novel combination protocols or investigational drugs, improving the treatment paradigm for canine (and thereby human) osteosarcoma, and understanding and treating cancer pain. I’m grateful for the potential opportunity to speak at FACTOR again. My first FACTOR speaking engagement has led to multiple new collaborations and I’m as eager as ever to Make it Better for both species.
