Jeanelle Folbrecht has over 20 years of experience working with Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Oncology and Hematology patients and their families at City of Hope. Dr. Folbrecht’s passion is providing compassionate patient care and focuses her efforts in AYA program development and research. She worked with members of the medical, nursing, and psychosocial teams to develop City of Hope’s AYA program to address their specific developmental and health care needs with the goals of reducing distress and improving medical outcomes. She recently concluded research on a novel psychological and educational intervention for young adult patients which demonstrated decreases in distress for attendees. In 2015 and 2020, she received grants to fund program development for AYA patients at City of Hope.
